Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, said that the official visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the United States represents a strategic step towards reinforcing the Kingdom of Bahrain's active international presence and advancing strategic relations grounded in mutual interests.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Saleh noted that the visit contributes to enhancing Bahrain's position globally, particularly in the areas of economy and investment, in line with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He highlighted the importance of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister's meetings with His Excellency Donald Trump, President of the United States, and senior officials in the US administration, noting that this reflects a shared commitment to deepening cooperation and broadening areas of understanding between the two countries.
He pointed to the opportunities for expanding economic, commercial, and technological partnerships that support sustainable development and align with Bahrain's national development priorities. Al Saleh commended the signing of private sector agreements between Bahrain and the United States valued at approximately USD 17 billion, in addition to significant agreements and memoranda of understanding in the fields of security, economy, energy, trade, science, and technology. These agreements, he said, contribute to strengthening the strategic partnership and advancing peace and prosperity on a sustainable basis.
The Shura Council Chairman emphasised that the visit reflects HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister's strategic insight and extensive expertise in economic and international affairs, which have enabled the Kingdom to participate actively in regional and global initiatives that support national economic growth and sustainability. He reiterated the Shura Council's commitment to supporting diplomatic engagement through the review of bilateral agreements and the development of a legislative framework that reinforces international confidence in Bahrain's economy and supports the Kingdom's comprehensive development, in accordance with the directives of His Majesty the King.
