Shura Council Chairman Engages in Diplomatic Meeting with Palestinian Ambassador

Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, received Aref Yousuf Hosain Saleh, the newly appointed Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Kingdom of Bahrain, in the presence of Jamal Mohammed Fakhro, First Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council. Al Saleh emphasised that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and with the support and follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, maintains firm and principled positions in support of the Palestinian cause. He noted Bahrain's continued backing of international efforts to protect the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, in line with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, which calls for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Saleh noted that Bahrain remains committed to supporting efforts to achieve security and peace in the region, based on national principles that promote stability and reinforce regional and international peace. He also highlighted the Council's interest in strengthening parliamentary relations and cooperation with the Palestinian National Council.

On his part, the Ambassador expressed pride in representing the State of Palestine in Bahrain, commending Bahrain's honourable and longstanding support for the Palestinian cause. He also commended Bahrain's development and progress, underscoring his commitment to strengthening relations in support of shared interests.
