Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, congratulated Isa Al Shaiji, Chairman of the Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA), on the ratification by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of the Press and Digital Media Law. The law aims to align with the development of national journalism in Bahrain.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Shura Chairman emphasized that the newly ratified law reflects His Majesty’s vision for media legislation that is both modern and in harmony with current developments in journalism. This outcome was the result of productive discussions between the legislative and executive authorities.
Chairman Al Saleh expressed appreciation for the support from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He acknowledged the Crown Prince’s commitment to enhancing collaboration in advancing Bahraini journalism.
Furthermore, Al Saleh commended journalists and media professionals for their roles in supporting freedom of
opinion and expression. He noted their contributions to reinforcing national unity, social cohesion, and showcasing Bahrain’s developmental achievements under the leadership of His Majesty the King.
