Shura Council Bureau Discusses Legislative Matters and Royal Speech Response

Manama: The Shura Council Bureau held its meeting on Sunday evening, chaired by Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, to discuss key organisational and legislative matters marking the start of the fourth session of the sixth legislative term. The meeting was attended by Jamal Mohammed Fakhro, First Deputy Chairman, Dr. Jehad Abdulla Alfadhel, Second Deputy Chairman, the Secretary-General of the Council, and the Head of the Legal Advisors Authority.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Saleh extended his congratulations to Jamal Mohammed Fakhro and Dr Jihad Abdullah Al Fadhel on their election as the Council's First and Second Deputy Chairpersons, expressing appreciation for the confidence placed in them by the members and their contributions in previous sessions. The Bureau discussed the proposed formation of the committee tasked with preparing the Council's reply to the Royal Speech of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, delivered at the opening of the new legislative session. The committee will be chaired by Jamal Mohammed Fakhro.

The Bureau also reviewed members' nominations to join the Council's standing committees and the executive committee of the parliamentary division, in preparation for presenting them at the Council's upcoming second session. The Bureau highlighted the guidance contained in His Majesty's Royal Address, describing it as a comprehensive national roadmap that reinforces Bahrain's development and prosperity under the Kingdom's forward-looking leadership.

The Bureau also affirmed its commitment to strengthening cooperation with the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to enhance coordination between the legislative and executive branches in support of Bahrain's continued progress and sustainable development.
