Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, affirmed that the decision to revoke Bahraini nationality from individuals who expressed support for the hostile Iranian attacks against Bahrain and other countries is a sovereign right that contributes to safeguarding society and protecting the Kingdom's supreme interests. Al Saleh emphasized the importance of this decision in reinforcing the rule of law, particularly in addressing actions that undermine the Kingdom's resources or violate the duty of loyalty, including activities threatening national security or communication with external parties.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Saleh commended the measures taken by Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and with the support and close follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to safeguard national security and review eligibility for Bahraini citizenship in line with established national principles and values. The Chairman noted that these measures reflect a consistent approach that places national interests above all considerations and emphasized that citizenship is a responsibility based on commitment and loyalty, not merely a status granted without merit.
Al Saleh also highlighted the role of security authorities in protecting society and preserving its stability in the face of challenges, commending their efforts and dedication. He underlined that unity between the leadership and the people remains key in addressing challenges and advancing comprehensive development. He affirmed Bahrain's continued progress under the leadership of HM the King and with the support of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The Chairman affirmed that the Shura Council supports all measures aimed at safeguarding the Kingdom's security, protecting its social fabric, and reinforcing national unity.
