Shura Chairman Meets Egyptian Senate Speaker to Strengthen Strategic Partnership

Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, met with Counsellor Essam El Din Farid, Speaker of the Egyptian Senate, on the sidelines of the Eighth Conference of the Arab Parliament and Speakers of Arab Councils and Parliaments in Cairo. The chairman affirmed that the longstanding relations between Bahrain and Egypt continue to advance and prosper across all sectors, reflecting a firmly established model of strategic partnership and constructive cooperation.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the chairman attributed this continued progress to the wise vision and unwavering support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt, as well as the close follow-up and continued support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. These efforts continue to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two brotherly countries, advance their shared interests, and contribute to the prosperity and development of their peoples.

The meeting was attended by Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, Bahrain's Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, as well as Shura Council members Dr. Adel Abdulrahman Al Maawda and Dr. Ebtesam Mohammed Saleh Al Dallal. The Shura Chairman commended the growing parliamentary relations between Bahrain's Shura Council and the Egyptian Senate, highlighting the ongoing coordination and constructive cooperation between the two legislative bodies.

He noted that the exchange of parliamentary visits and expertise contributes to enhancing legislative performance and further strengthening bilateral parliamentary cooperation in support of the shared interests of both countries and their peoples. He also underscored the importance of maintaining consultation and coordination between the two councils at regional and international parliamentary forums, while continuing to exchange views on Arab and regional issues.

For his part, the Egyptian Speaker affirmed that Egypt would always stand alongside the Kingdom in confronting any threat to its security, stability, and territorial integrity. He stressed that Egypt's security and that of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states are closely interconnected, noting that Gulf security forms an integral part of Egyptian and Arab national security.

The Speaker of the Egyptian Senate expressed pride in the deep-rooted Bahraini-Egyptian relations and their continued development across various fields. He reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to further strengthening parliamentary cooperation with the Shura Council by expanding coordination and exchanging expertise in ways that reinforce bilateral relations, serve mutual interests, and support joint Arab action.

He also expressed his aspiration to see increased Bahraini investment in the Egyptian economy, highlighting the promising opportunities it offers, alongside expanding bilateral trade to achieve shared economic interests. The Speaker commended the Chairman of the Shura Council and members of the parliamentary delegation for their active participation in Arab and international parliamentary conferences and meetings.

He also praised Bahrain's efforts to foster security and peace, promote dialogue, and advance the values of coexistence and tolerance, reflecting the Kingdom's civilisational approach and its active contribution to supporting regional and international security, stability, and sustainable development.
