Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, received members of the BCCI Board of Directors, led by Chairman Nabeel Khalid Kanoo, in the presence of Jamal Mohammed Fakhro, First Deputy Chairman of the Council; Dr. Jihad Abdullah Al Fadhel, Second Deputy Chairman; Khalid Hussain Al Maskati, Chairman of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee; and Kareema Mohammed Al Abbasi, Secretary-General of the Council. The Chairman affirmed that the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) plays a prominent role in sustaining development and supporting the national economy, contributing to the Kingdom's continued progress and prosperity under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and with the ongoing support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Saleh congratulated the board members on their election to the chamber's 31st term, wishing them success in carrying out their responsibilities and continuing to advance the chamber's mission. He commended BCCI's longstanding contributions since its establishment, highlighting its key role in supporting the private sector, particularly amid current challenges, and underscoring Bahrain's ability to overcome difficulties and turn them into opportunities for further growth and development.
The Shura Council Chairman expressed confidence in the capabilities of the new board members and their commitment to presenting constructive ideas that support the interests of both consumers and businesses, in line with future aspirations. He stressed that the private sector remains a key partner in advancing development across all sectors, highlighting its complementary role alongside the government and its responsibility to introduce initiatives that enhance the performance of commercial and industrial enterprises in supporting economic growth.
Al Saleh also praised the private sector's efforts, in coordination with relevant authorities, to ensure the continued availability of food supplies and services, and to maintain market price stability in light of the unjustified Iranian attacks on the Kingdom of Bahrain. He noted the Council's keenness to continue coordination with BCCI, particularly in discussing draft laws and topics related to supporting the national economy, and underscored the importance of ongoing consultative meetings through the joint committee between the two sides.
For his part, Nabeel Khalid Kanoo expressed appreciation to the Shura Council Chairman for highlighting the chamber's role and contributions to economic development, affirming continued cooperation and coordination to support Bahrain's progress. He added that BCCI remains committed to strengthening partnership with the Shura Council through joint committees and the exchange of views on economic legislation.
