Shura Chairman Highlights Bahrain’s Commitment to Peaceful Coexistence


Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, emphasized that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has established a vision prioritizing coexistence, tolerance, and human fraternity as central to security, stability, and sustainable development. He expressed pride in Bahrain’s internationally acknowledged role in fostering tolerance and peace, achieved through His Majesty’s leadership and humanitarian approach.



According to Bahrain News Agency, Chairman Al Saleh, marking the International Day of Peaceful Coexistence, which is observed annually on January 28 following a Bahraini initiative adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, highlighted Bahrain’s status as a leading model for peaceful coexistence among religions, cultures, and peoples globally. He noted that Bahrain has become an international symbol of human fraternity and respect for human rights, supported by advanced legislation and deeply rooted national principles. He praised His Majesty’s ongoing efforts to promote peace and mutual respect worldwide.



The Shura Chairman also acknowledged the continuous support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for initiatives that bolster tolerance, cultural and religious diversity, and human rights. This support underscores Bahrain’s significant regional and international role in advancing dialogue, solidarity, and peaceful coexistence.



He further pointed out the effective role of the King Hamad Center for Coexistence and Tolerance in implementing programs that encourage dialogue, understanding, and fraternity among nations, contributing to social progress and sustainable development.
