Shura Chairman hails government’s continued success in fulfilling Fiscal Balance Program

Shura Council Chairman, Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, has asserted that the continued success in achieving the goals of the Fiscal Balance Programme, in accordance with the preset plans, reflects the government’s sound approach in adopting effective initiatives and innovative programmes that support the developmental paths witnessed by the kingdom thanks to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s support and directives.

He expressed pride in HM the King’s support and care accorded to various fields of progress in the Kingdom, in a way that enhances national gains and achieves more prosperity for the country and its citizens.

He commended the tremendous efforts exerted by the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to increase revenues.

In this regard, he lauded the results of the Mid-year Financial Report, announced during today’s regular weekly Cabinet Meeting, chaired by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The results showed that actual revenues collected increased by 52%, achieving savings of BHD 33 million, which contributed to reducing the financing needs to repay international bonds of public debt.

He also praised the fruitful efforts, led by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to put in place the best practices across various government departments.

He also commended the positive steps taken by the relevant authorities, which led to a decrease in the unemployment rate from 7.5% to 5.7%, and the employment of 1,432 Bahrainis over the past period.

Al-Saleh stressed the keenness of the legislative branch to deepen cooperation and coordination with the executive branch to bring about more national achievements that support the comprehensive development process, spearheaded by HM the King.
