Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, sent a cable to Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al Sheikh, Speaker of the Shura Council of Saudi Arabia, strongly condemning and denouncing the renewed terrorist attacks carried out by the Iran-backed Houthi militia, which targeted several civilian, economic and vital facilities and sites in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The attacks resulted in several civilians, including women and children, being injured.

The chairman affirmed that the attacks represent a violation of and a challenge to the rules of international law, international humanitarian law, the United Nations Charter and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, as well as relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
He stressed that targeting Saudi Arabia does not threaten its security alone, but affects the entire Gulf security system and targets the stability enjoyed by the countries of the region. This requires coordinated Gulf and international positions to confront such practices, address their sources of support and put an end to the threats they pose.
Al Saleh stressed that the security and stability of Saudi Arabia are an integral part of the security of Bahrain and all Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. He affirmed the deep bonds of affection and brotherhood, shared destiny, and deeply rooted historical ties between the two countries.
He also affirmed Bahrain's support for Saudi Arabia in all legitimate measures it takes to protect its security, sovereignty, citizens and facilities. He commended the pivotal role played by Saudi Arabia in consolidating regional security and stability, as well as its continued efforts to address the Yemen crisis through political and diplomatic channels, towards a comprehensive and sustainable solution that preserves Yemen's unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The chairman noted that the attacks, coinciding with the continued threats against commercial vessels and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea and Bab Al Mandab, further increase their gravity, given their repercussions extending beyond the regional framework and affecting the security of international maritime routes, supply chains, global trade and energy security. This requires more effective international action to deter these threats and enforce relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
