Shura Chairman Arrives in Cairo for Arab Parliament Conference

Cairo: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, has arrived in Cairo, Egypt, to partake in the 8th conference of the Arab Parliament and Arab parliamentary speakers. The event, organized by the Arab Parliament alongside the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, is taking place at the League of Arab States' headquarters.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Chairman Al Saleh was welcomed by Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament. Leading the council's delegation, Al Saleh is joined by Dr. Adel Abdulrahman Al Maawda, Deputy Chairman of the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee, and Dr. Ebtisam Mohammed Al Dallal, a member of the Services Committee of the Shura Council.

The conference agenda includes discussions on fostering a unified Arab parliamentary stance to protect the security, stability, and sovereignty of Arab states from external threats. This initiative aims to bolster Arab national security and safeguard the welfare of Arab states and their citizens.

Additionally, the conference will address the situation in the Palestinian territories, focusing on the ongoing violations against Palestinians. An Arab parliamentary resolution on this issue is anticipated to be adopted.

Another key topic for the Arab parliamentary speakers is the adoption of a framework to enhance Arab digital sovereignty and protect national privacy amidst digital transformation. This framework is designed to support Arab parliaments in adapting to technological advancements, enhance digital security, and protect national interests, serving as a crucial aspect of Arab national security. It is slated for submission to the leaders of Arab states.
