Sharjah: The Sharjah Cultural Chess Club has announced an exciting schedule for this July, featuring the UAE-Omani Friendship Chess Championship as part of its summer program titled "Our Vacation Changes." This initiative, spanning five weeks, promises a blend of competitive chess and engaging workshops.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the UAE-Omani Friendship Chess Championship will take place from July 13 to 18. The event will welcome several Omani players to compete alongside local talents, in addition to hosting numerous workshops. This championship is a highlight of the club's summer offerings, aimed at fostering camaraderie and skill development among participants.
Currently, the Sharjah Cultural Chess Club is organizing the UAE Open Individual Chess Championship for Women, along with competitions in the Under 8 and Under 10 categories for both boys and girls. These events, conducted in collaboration with the UAE Chess Federation, have attracted 141 participants, both male and female. The competitions are set to continue until July 12.
In preparation for future tournaments, the club is also sending 33 players to the UAE Individual Chess Championship. This event serves as a timely preparation for the Arab Championship, which is scheduled to take place in Morocco from July 20 to 28.
