Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Shakhwan Abdullah Ahmed, congratulated the Islamic nation and our people on the occasion of the first of the month of Muharram, the Hijri New Year, stressing the unification of the national discourse and spreading the culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
He said in a statement: “We send the warmest verses of congratulations and great blessings to the Islamic nation, our people, and our people in the Kurdistan region of Iraq by the first of the month of Muharram 1445 AH. On this occasion, which is dear to the hearts of all Muslim men and women in the world, lessons and values must be drawn from the Prophet’s migration, steadfastness in faith, and the principles of truth and justice.
He stressed the importance of unifying the national discourse and spreading a culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence among the components, and the need to support endeavors and efforts aimed at consolidating security and stability in the country, and enabling state institutions to exert more cooperation to combat corruption, implement service projects and develop the governorates.
