Paris:His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty's Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, attended the 105th edition of the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at the Paris Longchamp racecourse. The event featured some of the world's finest horses and jockeys, drawing a large crowd and significant media attention.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the event was also attended by His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Council for Environment and Deputy Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club High Committee, along with Shaikh Duaij bin Salman bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Horse Welfare Authority.
Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad highlighted the significance of the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe as one of the most prestigious global horse races, emphasizing its important role on the international racing calendar. He noted that participation in such events is crucial for enhancing Bahrain's presence in horse racing and showcasing the advanced level of Bahraini equestrianism.
The Victorious Forever team, representing Bahrain, achieved remarkable success during the event. Their horse, Caballo De Mar, triumphed in the Qatar Prix du Cadran (Group 1) over 4,000 meters, with jockey Oisin Murphy and trainer George Scott, retaining the title won last year. This victory added to the team's impressive record in international racing.
Additionally, the team celebrated another victory with Wimbledon Hawkeye, who won the Qatar Prix Dollar (Group 2) over 2,000 meters. Ridden by jockey Christophe Soumillon and trained by George Scott, Wimbledon Hawkeye's strong performance secured the win against a competitive field.
Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad received the first-place prizes for both the Qatar Prix du Cadran and the Qatar Prix Dollar, marking significant achievements for the Victorious Forever team.
