Manama: Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, engaged with key figures including Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council; Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment of the United Arab Emirates; and Dr. Hani Atef Sweilam, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation of Egypt, alongside other speakers and participants at the Global Water Energy Climate Change Congress (GWECCC 2025). The event, hosted by the Ministry of Oil and Environment, was held at Exhibition World Bahrain.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah emphasized Bahrain's dedication to supporting both regional and international environmental and climate endeavors. He highlighted the importance of enhancing multilateral cooperation to secure a prosperous future, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to expanding partnerships and implementing practical solutions for water and energy security, climate response systems, and environmental sustainability. These efforts are in line with sustainable development goals.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah stressed the significance of ongoing consultation among GCC and other nations, underscoring the exchange of expertise in environmental and climate fields among specialists, researchers, and entrepreneurs. He noted that such collaboration is pivotal for unifying visions, improving coordination between governments and the private sector, and adopting best practices in managing natural resources, all while promoting innovation and environmental responsibility.
He also expressed gratitude towards the high-level speakers and participants for their contributions to the conference and extended his best wishes for their success.
