Makkah: Hisham S. Aljadhey, Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), inspected a number of facilities in the Makkah Region to review operational readiness ahead of the 1447 AH Hajj season, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the tour reviewed regulatory and field procedures aimed at ensuring the safety and quality of food, pharmaceutical, and medical products provided to pilgrims. Aljadhey visited food factories and warehouses, where SFDA inspection teams monitor production, manufacturing, and packaging processes to ensure compliance with approved safety and quality standards.
The inspection also reviewed technologies used by the authority to support operational efficiency during Hajj, including the use of body cameras in field operations to enhance transparency and support inspection teams. The SFDA implements inspection and monitoring plans across entry points, holy sites, and facilities under its supervision as part of efforts to protect pilgrims' health during the Hajj season.
