SCYS Secretary General Meets UNDP Official to Discuss Youth Empowerment Initiatives

Manama: Ayman bin Tawfiq Al Moayyed, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), met with Dr. Abdallah Al Dardari, Assistant Secretary General, Assistant Administrator, and Director of the Regional Bureau for Arab States at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The meeting was also attended by Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Moayyed highlighted that, under the leadership of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty's Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, the SCYS considers youth as pivotal to development. He stressed that collaborative programmes with the UN offer opportunities to bolster youth initiatives and empower national energies, especially in innovation and entrepreneurship.

Al Moayyed further acknowledged the significant role of the United Nations in supporting comprehensive development, emphasizing the need for cooperation aimed at building the capacities of Bahraini youth and increasing their involvement in sustainable development.

Dr. Al Dardari praised Bahrain's achievements across various sectors, particularly in youth empowerment and sports infrastructure development. He reiterated the UNDP's commitment to broadening cooperation with Bahrain and supporting projects that position youth as active contributors to a more sustainable future.
