SCW and Social Development Ministry to Establish Women’s Support Offices Across Bahrain

Manama: The Supreme Council for Women (SCW) has announced plans to open support offices for Bahraini women in social development centers throughout all four governorates of Bahrain. This initiative seeks to improve access to SCW's support services, following directives from Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and SCW President.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Lulwa bint Saleh Al Awadhi, SCW Secretary General, confirmed that the decision was approved during SCW's fourth meeting. Four offices will be established in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Development. These offices will be staffed by qualified personnel from SCW's General Secretariat, who specialize in family counseling and legal assistance.

The offices will be located in social development centers and will coordinate with ministry services and other government institutions to provide comprehensive support. Al Awadhi highlighted that since 2004, SCW has operated dedicated offices that serve as contact points between Bahraini women and the council for receiving and addressing complaints. The new offices aim to expand this service, making it easier for women to access support, address challenges, and receive assistance in overcoming barriers to government services.

Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi, Minister of Social Development, praised SCW's longstanding efforts, led by HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim, to advance women's empowerment and safeguard their achievements. He emphasized the ministry's commitment to ongoing cooperation with SCW to enhance services in line with national efforts to support Bahraini women.
