Manama: Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) and Chairman of the Higher Committee for the Bahraini Calendar, received Dr. Waheeb Isa Al Nasser, Professor of Applied Physics and member of the Higher Committee for the Bahraini Calendar.
According to Bahrain News Agency, during the meeting, Dr. Al Nasser presented Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed with a panel containing astronomical calculations for the expected start dates of the Holy Month of Ramadhan and the Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha over a 25-year period, covering 1447-1472 AH, corresponding to 2026-2050 AD. The calculations were prepared in accordance with the standards of the Unified Islamic Calendar.
Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed highlighted the importance of combining authenticity with modern scientific progress while maintaining established principles. He praised the presentation and commended Dr. Al Nasser's scientific and astronomical efforts, including his work in following up on astronomical calculations and phenomena, and his contribution to advancing Bahrain's scientific activity in this field.
Dr. Al Nasser expressed his appreciation to Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed for the meeting and his guidance, noting his role in leading and directing the work of the Higher Committee for the Bahraini Calendar, which has led to a number of initiatives serving religion and the Kingdom.
