SCIA President Discusses Cultural Cooperation with Egyptian Ambassador

Manama: Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA), received Reham Abdelhameed Khalil, Ambassador of Egypt to Bahrain. The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation in religious and cultural affairs.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed emphasized the deep historical ties between Bahrain and Egypt, noting the ongoing cooperation and coordination across various sectors. He expressed his dedication to further strengthening these relations, aligning with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El Sisi of Egypt.

Shaikh Abdulrahman also praised Al Azhar's influential role, led by His Eminence Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed El Tayeb, in promoting Islamic values and encouraging moderation and tolerance. He acknowledged Al Azhar and the Muslim Council of Elders for their significant contributions to organizing the forthcoming Intra-Islamic Dialogue Conference. This event is scheduled to occur in Bahrain from February 19-20 under the patronage of HM the King, featuring His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al Azhar and a notable group of Islamic scholars and intellectuals globally.

Ambassador Khalil, in her remarks, appreciated the enduring historical ties between Bahrain and Egypt and the continuous efforts to bolster their partnership, particularly in religious affairs. She also acknowledged Bahrain's progress as a civilization, commending the Kingdom as a model for promoting tolerance and interfaith coexistence.
