SCIA President Attends International Conference on Islamic Unity

Bashkortostan: Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA), participated in the 16th International Scientific and Practical Conference held in Bashkortostan, Russian Federation.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the conference was organised by the Central Religious Administration of Muslims in Russia, under the patronage of His Excellency Radiy Khabirov, Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan. It saw the participation of approximately 500 attendees, including representatives from major governmental, Islamic, and academic institutions, as well as Sharia scholars, historians, and specialists.

During the event, Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed delivered a speech conveying the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He extended their best wishes for the conference's success in achieving its objectives.

Shaikh Abdulrahman highlighted Bahrain's pioneering experience under the leadership of His Majesty the King in supporting Islamic unity. He reviewed the initiatives and conferences hosted by Bahrain in previous years, leading up to the Intra-Islamic Dialogue Conference held earlier this year.

He emphasized the importance of international conferences as platforms for exchanging constructive ideas and strengthening Islamic brotherhood globally. He called for intensified efforts by scholars and institutions to address current challenges and promote dialogue among all religions.

The conference included seven scholarly sessions discussing the ideals and values of Islam related to Islamic unity. Participants commended Bahrain's initiative in hosting the Intra-Islamic Dialogue Conference and appreciated its role in promoting Islamic conferences.

The event, held annually in Ufa, aims to promote the ideals and values of Islam and develop practical proposals supporting spiritual and moral values, fostering peace and coexistence. It is organised by the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia and its affiliated Russian Islamic University, with participation from the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World and ICESCO.
