SCIA Chairman Inaugurates Abdullah Nass Mosque in East Hidd

East Hidd: Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA), has inaugurated the Abdullah Nass Mosque in East Hidd. This event is part of a broader initiative led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, aiming to open, renovate, and develop 40 mosques across Bahrain.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Abdulrahman highlighted Bahrain's dedication to maintaining places of worship, recognizing the support from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the proactive involvement of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The SCIA chairman praised the involvement of philanthropists in the construction of mosques, specifically acknowledging the contributions made by the Nass family. He underscored SCIA's commitment, under royal directives, to support charitable initiatives and facilitate the development of mosques.

Sameer Abdullah Nass, Chairman of Bahrain Chamber, also expressed his family's commitment to supporting places of worship and promoting community values. The inauguration saw attendance from senior officials, religious scholars, and community members, highlighting the community's involvement and interest in such initiatives.

The Abdullah Nass Mosque covers an area of 4,700 square metres and can accommodate over 1,600 worshippers. It also features social facilities, endowment-funded commercial units, and residential quarters for the imam and muezzin, reflecting a comprehensive approach to community service and engagement.
