SCIA Chairman and Muslim Council of Elders Secretary General Discuss Islamic Unity Efforts

Manama: Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA), met with Counselor Mohamed Abdel Salam, Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders, to discuss ongoing efforts to promote dialogue, understanding, and coexistence within the Islamic world.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting underscored the significant role of the Muslim Council of Elders in organizing and participating in the Intra-Islamic Dialogue Conference, which took place in Manama on February 19-20. The conference was held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and gathered leading scholars, religious figures, and intellectuals from across the globe, including His Eminence the Grand Imam Professor Dr. Ahmed Al Tayeb, Shaikh of Al Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders.

Throughout the discussions, Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed praised the conference's achievements, noting that it embodied the spirit of Islamic unity and bolstered the principles of mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence. He reiterated Bahrain's dedication to being a platform for dialogue and supporting initiatives that uphold authentic Islamic values.

Counselor Abdel Salam expressed the greetings and appreciation of His Eminence the Grand Imam Professor Dr. Ahmed Al Tayeb to the leadership and people of Bahrain for their exceptional efforts in hosting the conference and their ongoing commitment to fostering dialogue and Islamic unity.

Both parties examined topics of mutual interest and emphasized the importance of implementing the resolutions and recommendations from the Intra-Islamic Dialogue Conference. They also agreed to maintain close cooperation between the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and the Muslim Council of Elders to further serve the interests of the Islamic community and promote unity.
