Manama: Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council for Health (SCH), received Dr. Nasreen Al Sayed, Consultant in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Lipid Disorders, following her appointment as President of the Africa and Middle East Federation of the International Atherosclerosis Society (IAS).
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting was attended by Dr. Mariam Hermes Al Hajri, Vice President of the Bahrain Diabetes Society. Dr. Shaikh Mohammed extended his congratulations to Dr. Al Sayed on her new appointment, expressing pride in her representation of the Kingdom of Bahrain in both regional and international medical forums. He wished her success in her new role.
Dr. Shaikh Mohammed also commended the International Atherosclerosis Society for its role in promoting public health awareness and advancing research in the field of atherosclerosis and lipid disorders. He emphasized SCH's support for initiatives aimed at developing the health sector in Bahrain and the region.
Dr. Al Sayed, on her part, expressed appreciation to the SCH President for his continued support of the medical sector. She stressed the IAS's commitment to strengthening cooperation with Bahrain in research and public health awareness related to cholesterol and atherosclerosis to achieve shared objectives.
