SCH President Attends Conclusion of First American Mission Hospital Internal Medicine Update Conference

Manama: Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohamed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), attended the conclusion of the American Mission Hospital Internal Medicine Conference, organised by the American Mission Hospital in cooperation with Education Plus and Mayo Clinic on September 2 and 3.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the event was attended by Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayyed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, alongside health sector officials, specialists, leading doctors, consultants, experts, and specialists from both Bahrain and abroad. The SCH President highlighted that organising and hosting specialised medical conferences and events demonstrates Bahrain's continuous commitment to developing the health sector and nurturing national talent. He underscored the significance of these conferences in facilitating the exchange of expertise and knowledge while keeping abreast of the latest medical developments and practices. This, he noted, enhances the professional capabilities of healthcare workers and improves the quality and efficiency of healthcare services.

He praised the organisers for their efforts in creating a scientific platform that united local and international experts. He stressed that hosting such specialised scientific events enhances Bahrain's prestige as a prime destination for medical and scientific conferences and forums on both regional and international stages.

Health Minister Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayyed Jawad Hassan emphasized the necessity of continuous medical education to keep pace with the rapid advancements in health sciences and technologies. She noted that this ongoing education empowers medical and healthcare workers to implement the latest knowledge and clinical practices, ultimately positively impacting healthcare service quality and efficiency.

She also pointed out the importance of continuing support for scientific and professional initiatives, as well as bolstering partnerships and expertise exchanges among health sector institutions. Such efforts, she said, would foster a culture of continuous learning and scientific research, supporting excellence and innovation within Bahrain's health sector.
