SCH Chairman Attends Inauguration of Advanced Clinical Simulation Centre at UoB

Manama: Lieutenant General Doctor Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), inaugurated the Advanced Clinical Simulation Centre at the University of Bahrain (UoB). The centre is designed to enhance healthcare education and training and to prepare national healthcare professionals to meet the evolving needs of the sector.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Lt. Gen. Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah described the centre as a strategic investment in national talent and an important step towards strengthening the quality of healthcare education and training in Bahrain. This initiative supports efforts to deliver sustainable, high-quality healthcare services in the country.

Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the University of Bahrain Board of Trustees, emphasized that the centre reflects the university's commitment to experiential learning and the continuous development of its academic programmes. He noted that the programmes are aligned with international best practices.

Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al Ansari, President of the University of Bahrain, stated that the facility will provide students with access to advanced simulation technologies, which are essential for preparing highly qualified healthcare professionals.

Dr. Lina Mohammed Khanji, Dean of the College of Health and Sport Sciences, pointed out the growing role of clinical simulation in modern healthcare education. She highlighted its importance in improving patient safety and the quality of care.

The centre is equipped with 15 advanced simulation models, which enable realistic training scenarios and multidisciplinary learning. It supports undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programmes across various specialties, including emergency care, critical care, paediatrics, maternity care, mental health, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

The facility will allow nursing students to develop clinical skills in a safe, simulated environment before hospital placements, enhancing their professional readiness and clinical competence. This initiative aligns with global healthcare education standards.

The project is part of the University of Bahrain's ongoing efforts to strengthen its educational infrastructure and support the development of a skilled national healthcare workforce.
