Manama: Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), and Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hasan, Minister of Health, conducted a field visit to Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) to review operations and monitor healthcare updates. They were received by Dr. Mariam Athbi Al Jalahma, CEO of Government Hospitals, along with members of the executive management team.
According to Bahrain News Agency, during the visit, they inspected pharmacy and outpatient clinic operations, observed daily healthcare procedures, and listened to feedback from medical staff on challenges and potential improvements, as well as patient concerns. A meeting was also held with the executive management of Government Hospitals, chaired by Dr. Al Jalahma, to discuss operational efficiency, patient experience strategies, and infrastructure development plans in line with global standards.
Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah underscored Bahrain's commitment to prioritising public health, emphasising continuous efforts to enhance medical capabilities and ensure services meet the highest international standards. Dr. Jaleela Hasan highlighted the importance of field visits in fostering direct engagement with healthcare professionals and patients, underscoring Bahrain's dedication to developing an integrated and advanced healthcare system.
She reiterated the ministry's commitment to implementing development plans that ensure the sector's sustainability and long-term goals. The visit aligns with Bahrain's broader strategy to enhance performance in healthcare institutions, support medical professionals, and improve operational efficiency for sustainable healthcare services.
