Saudi Interior Minister and Iraqi Health Minister Sign MoU on Combating Illicit Drug Trafficking

Riyadh: Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Interior of Saudi Arabia, and Dr. Saleh Mahdi Al Hasnawi, the Minister of Health of Iraq and Chair of the Supreme Committee for Drug Control, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between their respective ministries.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the MoU is aimed at addressing the challenges of illicit trafficking and smuggling of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and chemical precursors. The agreement signifies a collaborative effort between Saudi Arabia and Iraq to tackle the growing issue of drug trafficking that affects both nations.

The MoU underscores the commitment of both countries to enhance cooperation and share intelligence to effectively combat drug-related crimes. The agreement is expected to pave the way for joint initiatives and strategies to counteract the dangers posed by illegal drug trade and its impact on public health and safety.
