Saudi Defense Minister Delivers Message from King Salman to Iranian Supreme Leader

Tehran: Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, delivered a written message from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to His Eminence Ali Khamenei, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, during a meeting held in Tehran on Thursday.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Minister conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, along with their wishes for progress and prosperity to the government and people of Iran. The Supreme Leader, in turn, conveyed his greetings and appreciation to the Saudi leadership.

The two sides reviewed relations and discussed matters of common interest with a view to enhancing cooperation between the two countries.

Prince Khalid bin Salman also met with Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, at the presidential palace in Tehran. He conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince. President Pezeshkian conveyed his greetings and appreciation to the Saudi leadership.

The meeting reviewed Saudi-Iranian relations and discussed ways to enhance them. Regional and international developments and the efforts being made in that regard were also addressed.
