Saudi Cabinet Renews Condemnation of Iranian Attacks, Affirms the Kingdom’s Right to Protect Its Security and Sovereignty

Riyadh: His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, chaired the Cabinet session held via video conference. HRH the Crown Prince briefed the Cabinet on the results of phone calls with the leaders of several countries, focusing on strengthening joint coordination to face the repercussions of the current situation on regional and international security.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Cabinet strongly condemned, in the strongest terms, the heinous Iranian attacks that targeted the Kingdom, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, and several countries. The Cabinet affirmed that the Iranian side’s insistence on threatening security and stability, and targeting civilian objects, airports, and oil facilities, is a blatant violation of international conventions, laws, and norms.

Salman Al-Dossary, Minister of Media, said to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session that the Cabinet stressed the Kingdom’s full right to take all measures to protect its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and to deter any aggression. It commended the high efficiency of the Saudi air defence forces in intercepting and destroying hostile missiles and drones that attempted to target national facilities.

The Cabinet also valued the unified positions issued by the joint ministerial meeting between the GCC and the European Union, and the Arab League council meeting, which were consistent with the Saudi approach of supporting Gulf and Arab solidarity in facing regional challenges.
