Saudi Arabia to sight Dhul Hijjah crescent moon on Sunday

The Supreme Court today called upon Muslims throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to sight the crescent of the month of Dhul Hijjah on Sunday evening

In a statement today, the court said that anyone who sights the crescent moon by naked eyes or through binoculars to report to the nearest court and register his testimony, or report to the authority of the region’s center in his area where he sighted the crescent to help him reach the nearest court.

Dhul Hijjah is the twelfth and final month in the Islamic calendar. It is the month in which the ?ajj takes place as well as Eid al-Adha, the “Festival of the Sacrifice.”
