Saudi Arabia and Japan Discuss 2026 Asian Games and Para Games in Nagoya

Riyadh: Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Baeshen, Chief Executive and Secretary-General of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC), met Matsumoto Hisashi, Japan's Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, at the SOPC headquarters in Riyadh on Monday. The discussions focused on Japan's preparations for hosting the 20th Asian Games and the 5th Asian Para Games in Nagoya in 2026, as well as facilitating the participation of the Saudi delegation.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting reflects the strengthening of Saudi-Japanese sports collaboration. This collaboration is bolstered by a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between SOPC and the Japanese Olympic Committee (JOC) during the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
