At the invitation of the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, a Russian parliamentary delegation, led by the Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia, Valentina Matviyenko, will arrive here on an official visit to the kingdom from December 4 to 6.
The visit of the Russian Federal Council’s delegation to the kingdom is within the Representatives Council’s strategy to enhance parliamentary diplomacy and discuss areas of cooperation between the two friendly countries. It will also provide an opportunity to highlight the kingdom’s civilisational achievements, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, as it coincides with the kingdom’s celebrations of its national days in mid-December.
During the visit, the Representatives Council and the Russian Federal Council’s delegation will hold official talks, and sign memoranda of understanding to enhance parliamentary cooperation between the two friendly countries.
The delegation’s visit also includes meetings with the Shura Council members, led by Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, and senior state officials. It also features visits to the kingdom’s landmarks, national projects and cultural centres.
