Moscow: The Committee on International Affairs of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation organised a session to discuss the outcomes of the Kingdom of Bahrain's participation in the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum, which was held from June 18-20. According to Bahrain News Agency, the session was attended by Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Saati, Ambassador of Bahrain to Russia; and Andrey Svintsov, member of the State Duma and the Parliamentary Friendship Committee with Bahrain, as well as other members of the Duma. The Committee praised Bahrain's role as guest of honour at the forum, noting that this participation underscores the strong ties between the two countries, which have been maintained for thirty-five years since the establishment of diplomatic relations. They also highlighted that Bahrain's involvement is expected to open up broader prospects for cooperation between the nations. The Committee acknowledged Bahrain's prominent international standing, attributing it to th e policy of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Ambassador Al Saati reiterated Bahrain's commitment to further developing relations with Russia for the benefit of both peoples. This commitment is guided by the vision of His Majesty the King and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The ambassador also discussed the outcomes of meetings held by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King's Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, during the forum with His Excellency Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, and senior Russian officials. These discussions resulted in several agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two countries.
