Manama:The Royal Medical Services - Bahrain Oncology Centre recently hosted a ceremony to celebrate the recovery of children from cancer. The event marked a significant milestone with 18 children completing their treatment this year, contributing to a total of 23 recoveries over the past two years.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the ceremony was graced by the presence of several dignitaries, including His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, along with other prominent figures such as Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hasan. Their attendance underscored the importance of the event and the commitment to healthcare initiatives.
Brigadier Dr. Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa expressed gratitude to His Highness Shaikh Khalid for his participation, highlighting the positive impact of his support on the children and their families. He emphasized the Royal Medical Services' dedication to improving healthcare under the guidance of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Crown Prince, as well as the support of the Bahrain Defence Force.
The event featured a speech by Dr. Dalal Al Burshaid, who heads the Paediatric Haematology and Oncology Department, and showcased a film on the department's achievements. The children were honored by HH Shaikh Khalid, who also received a commemorative gift and took part in a tour of the children's stations, engaging with various activities and events organized alongside the ceremony.
