Manama: The Royal Guard triumphed in the fifth edition of the Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Cup, securing victory over the Royal Bahraini Naval Force. The match concluded with a 1-1 draw, leading to a penalty shootout where the Royal Guard emerged victorious, scoring 5-2 at the Sheikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Stadium.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Football Association (BFA), represented the Commander-in-Chief in presenting the trophy and medals to the winning team. The event was marked by individual accolades, with Moayed Al Desooqe receiving the award for best player, Ziad Bassil being named top scorer, and Hassan Ali Khaleef honored as the best goalkeeper.
The tournament, which is organized by the Military Sports Union, also featured a prize draw that included four cars, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event.
