Manama: Assigned by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of the Royal Court, received Engineer Ali Ahmed Al Derazi, Chairman of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), who presented the institution’s twelfth annual report for 2025.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed conveyed His Majesty’s congratulations to the newly appointed NIHR Board of Commissioners and wished them success in their national responsibilities. He praised the report’s contents, which outlined the institution’s local and international achievements to promote and advance human rights in line with His Majesty the King’s commitment to safeguarding rights and supporting all efforts to uphold them.
The minister commended the work of the Board of Commissioners and the General Secretariat, highlighting the NIHR’s role in protecting rights, strengthening values, raising awareness, and ensuring freedoms. He said the report reflects dedicated national efforts to realize the institution’s objectives and vision.
He added that the report also demonstrates the NIHR’s progress in monitoring human rights issues, providing advisory opinions to relevant authorities, and enhancing its expertise through cooperation with international organizations concerned with protecting human rights.
