Manama:Dr. Ali bin Mohamed Al Rumaihi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD), has emphasized the significance of the Royal Address delivered by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The address marked the inauguration of the fifth session of the sixth legislative term of the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives, outlining a national roadmap for Bahrain's future.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Rumaihi highlighted that the King's address sets national priorities, including safeguarding Bahrain's security and sovereignty, advancing sustainable development, and promoting national unity. It also calls for strengthening cooperation among constitutional authorities. Dr. Al Rumaihi praised the government's efforts, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in maintaining service continuity and addressing challenges such as the repercussions of Iranian attacks. The King's appreciation of the defense and security forces for safeguarding Bahrain reflects the efficiency of state institutions.
The declaration of June 1 as "Day of Pledge and Loyalty" is a testament to the resilience and unity of the people of Bahrain. Additionally, the upcoming designation of the "Year of Isa bin Salman" aims to honor the legacy of the late His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
Dr. Al Rumaihi also underscored Bahrain's international contributions, including spearheading efforts for the adoption of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817. This highlights Bahrain's role in regional security and stability and its commitment to promoting peace and dialogue, reinforcing its ties within the GCC and international partnerships.
