Manama: The Royal Medical Services (RMS) has inaugurated the "Basmat Shifa" electronic donation platform at the Bahrain Oncology Centre. The launch event was attended by Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, and Brigadier General Dr. Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Commander of the RMS. The platform is designed to enhance healthcare support programmes and increase community involvement in cancer patient care.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Minister Al Maawda highlighted that the platform serves as a model of community partnership, underscoring the Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation's dedication to transparent and efficient management of resources. The platform facilitates secure and accessible electronic donations, supporting sustainable health and social programmes. It is part of an integrated collaboration between the Foundation and the RMS, aimed at improving patient support services.
The RMS Commander described the initiative as a strategic move to foster community engagement in healthcare. The platform allows individuals and institutions to contribute to therapeutic and diagnostic services at the Bahrain Oncology Centre through a secure digital system. This initiative aligns with Bahrain's vision to advance its healthcare sector.
