RHF signs memo to provide relief aid to quake-hit areas in Turkiye

Ankara, Mar. 19 (BNA): In implementation of the noble directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to provide humanitarian aid to weather the repercussions of the earthquake which rocked Syria and Turkiye, Secretary General of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed, the Chief Executive of the National Committee to Support the Victims of the Earthquake in Syria and Turkiye, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Turkiye, Philippe Leclerc.

The signing of the memo in the Commissioner’s headquarters in Ankara was attended by Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Turkiye Dr. Ibrahim Al-Abdullah and Khaled Khalifa, the Senior Advisor to the High Commissioner and UNHCR Representative to Gulf Cooperation Council Countries.

Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed extended most sincere thanks and appreciation to HM the King for his directives to support the victims of the earthquake in Syria and Turkiye. He also commended the great support of the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He praised the leadership of Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, of RHF in carrying out numerous initiatives to support the victims of the earthquake.

The Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Turkiye commended the royal support, hailing the humanitarian initiative. He said that per the memo, Bahrain would support the direst needs in the quake-hit areas in Turkiye and provide relief aid to the victims.

The Bahraini ambassador to Turkiye praised the royal directives, which are part of HM the King’s efforts to support brotherly and friendly peoples in various humanitarian circumstances. He also lauded the government’s support, led by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the initiatives of RHF under the leadership of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to carry out the royal directives.
