REHC Unveils Ambitious Plan for Sports and Lifestyle Destination in Bahrain

Manama: The Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) has launched its Masterplan, a significant project aimed at transforming Bahrain into a premier regional destination for equestrian sports, luxury living, and recreation. This announcement was made at Gateway Gulf 2025, a leading investment forum at the Four Seasons Hotel, scheduled from November 2nd to 3rd, 2025.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the REHC Masterplan, developed in collaboration with Bareeq Al Retaj Real Estate Services, spans over three million square meters and will be implemented in phases. It integrates sports, hospitality, retail, and sustainability, shaping a comprehensive destination. This project aligns with Bahrain’s vision for economic diversification, focusing on tourism, sports, and real estate, and is strategically situated in the country’s equestrian and horse racing district.

Yusuf Osama Buheji, CEO of REHC, highlighted the project’s significance, stating it marks a new era for the club and Bahrain’s equestrian community. Under the directives of the REHC High Committee, chaired by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the project aims to create a world-class destination that merges sport, nature, and lifestyle, fostering investment, job creation, and tourism. It also seeks to build upon Bahrain’s horseracing heritage, reimagining it for future generations.

The development features multiple zones, including an 18-hole championship golf course, a Golf Clubhouse, and an Equestrian Centre with modern training and event facilities. It will house a Luxury Golf Hotel and Villas, luxury Equestrian Villas, and a Commercial and Retail Centre. Additionally, a Sports Complex and Members Clubhouse are included, promoting active living and community engagement, with F and B outlets offering premium dining experiences.

Environmental sustainability is a core focus, with a solar farm at the North-Eastern Investment Site providing clean energy to the complex. This supports Bahrain’s national goals for renewable energy and carbon reduction.

The REHC Masterplan offers various investment opportunities, inviting local and international investors to engage in residential, hospitality, commercial, and leisure sectors within Bahrain’s expanding sports and lifestyle economy.

Through its facilities and design, the Masterplan will bolster Bahrain’s standing as a regional hub for sports tourism, equestrian events, and luxury hospitality, furthering national development objectives.
