Manama: The Kingdom of Bahrain’s teqball team achieved a significant milestone as Rawan Abdulaziz and Fatima Al Banna progressed to the girls’ doubles semifinals at the 3rd Asian Youth Games. The event is being hosted by Bahrain and will continue until October 31 under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Rawan and Fatima topped their group with victories over the Philippines and India. They are set to face China tomorrow, with hopes of reaching their first-ever final and securing an Asian medal for Bahrain. Meanwhile, the boys’ team, comprising Hussein Isa and Ali Hassan, had a commendable run but exited the tournament following the group stage.
In kabaddi, Bahrain faced a setback with a loss to Iran. They are scheduled to compete against India and Bangladesh in their final matches of the tournament. Rawan expressed pride in their achievement, extending gratitude to the coaches and staff for their support and expressing a strong desire to win gold and elevate Bahrain’s flag at the Games.
