Rashid Equestrian Club Strengthens Ties with British Racing School

Manama: Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) has renewed its cooperation agreement with the British Racing School, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the capabilities of Bahraini jockeys. Yusuf Osama Buhiji, a member of the High Committee of REHC and Acting Chief Executive Officer, emphasized the importance of training programs to develop national talent in line with the highest technical standards. According to Bahrain News Agency, the renewal of the agreement was formalized during a visit to the British Racing School in the United Kingdom, coinciding with the July Festival at Newmarket Racecourse. The agreement was signed by Mohammed Ahmed Al Nemah, Director of the Jockey Foundation at REHC, and Andrew Braithwaite, Chief Executive Officer of the British Racing School. The collaboration aims to organize joint training programs and leverage the school's technical and advisory expertise to advance the Bahrain Jockey Academy's initiatives. During the visit, Buhiji engaged with Bahraini jockeys participating in the training program, encouraging them to take full advantage of the opportunity to refine their skills. This aligns with REHC's mission to prepare jockeys for international competition. Mohammed Al Nemah mentioned that the 2026 program has been expanded to accommodate more Bahraini jockeys, including apprentices and emerging riders. The program includes both theoretical and practical training with specialist instructors and offers opportunities to participate in local races.
