Doha: The State of Qatar expressed strong condemnation of the targeting of its territory with Iranian ballistic missiles, describing it as a flagrant violation of its national sovereignty and an escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region. It affirmed its full right to respond in accordance with international law.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs also condemned Iranian violations affecting the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Kuwait, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, affirming Qatar's full solidarity with these countries in all measures taken to safeguard their security and stability.
The statement noted that the targeting of Qatari territory contradicts the principles of good neighbourliness and cannot be accepted under any justification. It referred to Doha's continued efforts to facilitate dialogue between Iran and the international community and its consistent call for peaceful means to resolve disputes.
The ministry renewed Qatar's call for the immediate cessation of escalatory actions and a return to dialogue to contain the crisis and prevent a slide into broader confrontations that could threaten regional stability and the interests of its peoples.
