Public Works Minister Announces Progress on Infrastructure Projects Across Bahrain

Manama: Ibrahim bin Hassan Al Hawaj, Minister of Works, highlighted that the ministry is continuing to implement strategic programmes and projects aimed at developing infrastructure across the Kingdom of Bahrain. He noted that infrastructure is a key enabler of vital economic sectors and essential for attracting investment.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister welcomed the signing of a financing agreement between the Government of Bahrain and the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) for the second phase of the Shaikh Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah Avenue development project. He noted that the agreement reflects the strong, longstanding ties between the Kingdom and the State of Kuwait and ongoing cooperation in supporting infrastructure development.

He said that the project is one of the ministry's key strategic initiatives due to its role in improving traffic flow and supporting economic activity. The road serves several commercial and industrial areas, and the second phase will significantly enhance capacity and efficiency in line with population growth and urban expansion.

Minister Al Hawaj added that the project involves one of Bahrain's key roads, which links the Capital Governorate with the Southern Governorate. The development will include widening the road, adding service roads on both sides to serve commercial and administrative buildings, and constructing five overpasses.

He also commended the efforts of the Ministry of Finance and National Economy in coordinating the implementation of development plans, which contribute to improving the Kingdom's road network and infrastructure quality.
