Public Prosecution to Organise Forum on Combatting Organised Fraud


Manama: The Public Prosecution, in cooperation with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Judicial and Legal Studies Institute, will organise a forum on November 24 and 25 aimed at strengthening national efforts to combat organised fraud. The event will bring together judges, public prosecutors, specialised law-enforcement officers, representatives of the Central Bank of Bahrain, and officials from banks and financial institutions in the Kingdom.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the forum aims to examine emerging fraud patterns and review best judicial and security practices in combating fraud, particularly organised and electronic fraud. Discussions will also address the role of banks and financial institutions in preventing such crimes, the technological capabilities used to detect and track evidence, and mechanisms for international cooperation in pursuing cross-border fraud networks and tracing illicit proceeds.
