Public Prosecution Engages in GCC Committee Deliberations

Manama: The Public Prosecution took part in the 47th meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Public Prosecution Committee. Attorney General Counsel Fahd Al Buainain led the delegation, accompanied by Chief Prosecutor Mohammed Al Zubari.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting covered significant topics such as the formulation of guidelines for handling investigations involving elderly individuals, policies to enhance cooperation between public prosecution authorities across GCC nations, and the drafting of a model law concerning the use of artificial intelligence in prosecution work. The committee reached consensus on recommendations pertaining to these discussions.

The delegation actively participated in a workshop organized by the GCC Secretariat in collaboration with the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (Eurojust). The workshop aimed at improving judicial cooperation in criminal matters.

Additionally, the delegation conducted a bilateral meeting with Eurojust representatives to explore methods to strengthen collaboration and share expertise in criminal investigations and judicial cooperation.
