Manama: The second edition of the Primary Healthcare Centres Conference and Exhibition launched in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The event was attended by Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health, and Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayyed Jawad Hasan, Minister of Health.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the event is held in partnership with the Supreme Council of Health, the Bahrain Family Physicians Association, the International Conference on Family Medicine, and the Kuwait Primary Healthcare Conference, with BDA Conferences and Exhibitions responsible for organising the event. The opening day programme included sessions on preventive medicine, day-to-day clinical practice, non-communicable diseases, multidisciplinary care, and mental health, in addition to an industry symposium and a scientific dental forum.
The conference brought together speakers from the Kingdom of Bahrain, the GCC countries, Egypt, Lebanon, India, and Ireland to discuss the latest topics in primary healthcare, non-communicable diseases, women’s and children’s health, mental health, quality and patient safety, artificial intelligence in medicine, and medical education, providing a comprehensive scientific programme that reflects the diverse needs of the health sector.
Dr. Ijlal Faisal Al Alawi, Chief Executive Officer of Primary Healthcare Centres and President of the Primary Healthcare Centres Conference and Exhibition, stated that holding the second edition of the conference reflects Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening and developing primary healthcare. She noted that the conference provides an effective platform for exchanging expertise and discussing practical solutions that respond to the challenges of modern health systems.
Dr. Al Alawi expressed her appreciation for the participation of experts and specialists, praised the support provided by partners, sponsors, and the organising team, and said she looks forward to scientific outcomes and professional partnerships that contribute to improving the quality of health services provided to the community.
The conference and exhibition continue tomorrow, Friday, with sessions on women’s health and maternity, child health, nursing, physiotherapy, and pharmacy, student sessions, emergency care, and quality and innovation. The third day, Saturday February 14, is dedicated to accredited specialised workshops covering clinical study design, diagnosis of balance disorders, the fundamentals of health economics, and medical imaging in primary care, in addition to sessions in dentistry, nursing, physiotherapy, and pharmacy.
