Rome: President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, welcomed King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain for a meeting at Palazzo Chigi during his private visit to Italy. The leaders discussed ongoing efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza amidst the Middle East situation.
According to Presidency of the Council of Ministers, President Meloni took the opportunity to commend Bahrain on its election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2026-27 term. The conversation also covered strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in economic cooperation, in anticipation of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain's visit to Rome in September. The visit is expected to conclude with the signing of several agreements.
