Manama: Lieutenant General Tariq bin Hassan Al Hassan, Chief of Police, met with Dr. Lulwa Showaiter, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, and Dr. Mariam Al Jalahma, CEO of Government Hospitals.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, along with representatives from relevant departments of the Ministries of Interior and Health and the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), attended the meeting. The meeting followed a Cabinet directive assigning the Ministry of Interior to coordinate with the Ministry of Health on developing national ambulance operations.
During the meeting, the Police Chief praised the high level of cooperation between the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Health, and healthcare institutions, supported and overseen by the SCH. He stressed that sectoral integration is a key pillar in national development and public service.
The discussions also highlighted joint efforts to improve the quality of services provided to citizens and residents, enhance emergency response readiness, and ensure the provision of first aid to patients before reaching hospitals.
The meeting further addressed means to develop national ambulance services and emergency medicine in collaboration with government hospitals and health centres.
